I'm dreaming of a trauma-free Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where no meltdowns happened, and children listened
To us when we had to tell them, "No"
I'm dreaming of a trauma-free Christmas
With every outburst and each fight
Can't our days be merry and bright?
And why can't our children just act right?
I'm dreaming of a trauma-free Christmas
All that I want is Christmas cheer
Not these hateful faces, nor these exhausting paces
But it is not to be I fear
I'm dreaming of a trauma-free Christmas
With every single fit they throw
I'm just so tired of telling them, "No"
Man, I wish I had somewhere else where I could go
